Foster Grandparents & Senior Companions
of Greater Siouxland
The Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs of Greater Siouxland, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Rock Valley Foundation, Inc. (RVR), provide volunteer opportunities for individuals 55 and over to serve their own communities 5-40 hours each week with financial benefits possible. With offices in Rock Valley and Sioux City, the programs together serve a nine county area including Lyon, Osceola, Dickinson, Sioux, O’Brien, Plymouth, Woodbury, and Monona counties in Iowa, Union County in South Dakota, and Jackson and Dakota counties in Nebraska.
The Rotary Club of Rock Valley Foundation (RVR), a 501c3 non-profit organization, is proud to sponsor both the Foster Grandparent & Senior Companion Programs of Greater Siouxland. The Rotary Club has been the sole sponsor since the beginning of the program.
History of the Foster Grandparent Program of Greater Siouxland
Since 1974, Foster Grandparents throughout northwest Iowa have been role models and mentors in classrooms, Head Start centers, and non-profit daycares. Foster Grandparents assist teachers by giving the students the extra attention, encouragement, and support they deserve. The Foster Grandparent Program of Greater Siouxland is proud to celebrate over 40 years of service. The incredible impact the program has made on children, volunteers, schools, and the communities it has served is remarkable.
History of the Senior Companion Program of Greater Siouxland
Since 2005, the Senior Companions throughout northwest Iowa have provided much needed support, assistance, and friendships to individuals 21 years and older to help them remain living independently. The Senior Companion Program is proud to celebrate over 10 years of service to the area. Senior Companions build relationships and assist those they serve by being a consistently dependable friend. Families appreciate the extra set of eyes and hands for their loved ones.

- With a majority of the donated budget going directly to supporting the Senior Volunteers. Your donation stays within our communities, impacting our local economies, & making a difference for limited income seniors.
- Your tax deductible donation through our sponsor, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, will be gratefully accepted at any time.
The Foster Grandparent Program (RVR FGP) & Senior Companion Program (RVR SCP) are Senior Corps Programs locally sponsored by the Rotary Club of Rock Valley Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Senior Corps is administrated by the Corporation for National and Community Service.
